Duoduo’s First Hot Pot Festival to Be Launched

Recently, Pinduoduo launched the Duoduo's First Hot Pot Festival, where quality ingredients were brought together. By providing subsidies, it satisfied the consumers' demand for fine food.

Pinduoduo released a list of products related to hot pot on December 20. It sorts out nearly 200,000 products, which fall under four categories: seasoning, ingredients, fruit, and electrical appliances. The top ten products of each category were published based on the sales on the first day.

Pinduoduo launched the Duoduo's First Hot Pot Festival recently.

The list shows that the hot pot seasoning of the northern flavor with great tonic effect and the Cantonese-style seasoning are popular this year, and occupy half of the list. The Sichuan- and Chongqing-style hot pot seasoning, however, still play a dominant part. The seasoning made mainly from beef tallow by Haidilao, Dezhuang, Dahongpao, and Qiaotou rank high on the list.

Due to the epidemic this year, consumers tend to favor healthy diets, especially those lightly flavored. The northern and Cantonese flavors, such as the hot pot with tomato or beef soup, have become increasingly popular and occupied four places on the list.

The tomato-flavor seasoning, in particular, stood out at the festival with a sweet-soured taste to stimulate the palate and rocketing sales.

Beef and mutton are indispensable to hot pot, and beef got the championship among other ingredients on the list.

An ingredient of enduring appeal and easy to cook, tripe best illustrates the fun of shabu-shabu. At the festival, it was sold better than lamb as the runner-up.

Now it comes to freshwater fishes and seafood. Their sales have been rising in recent years with increasing popularity among consumers, especially shrimps and sashimi.

Meatballs have always been a must for hot pot. Fish tofu and beef balls ranked fifth and sixth respectively on the list. The tender duck blood curd and abalone also made the list.

People's eating habits have changed to some extent by the epidemic. Consumers tend to eat hot pot at home with ingredients and seasoning purchased online instead of dining together with others outside.

Zou Li, in charge of Pinduoduo's "flash sale," said that the Hot Pot Festival aims to provide people with high quality and inexpensive goods and the opportunities to enjoy great traditional food. The New Year's Shopping Festival is also on its way to benefit and please the consumers.
