Chongqing Leader Meets Cross-Straits Joint Interview Delegation

Chongqing- The cross-Straits joint interview delegation started its interviews in southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality on July 16 after a four-day visit in Sichuan Province.

Li Jing, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chongqing Municipal Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, met the delegation. Li welcomed journalists visiting Chongqing and briefed them on local conditions. 

She noted that Chongqing has made great efforts to promote the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the coordinated development of one metropolitan downtown area and two town clusters of the Three Gorges Reservoir area in northeastern Chongqing and Wuling mountainous area in the southeastern part. The city endeavors to foster an important growth pole for high-quality development in western China, so as to promote high-quality development and livelihood.

She invited journalists on both sides of the Taiwan Straits to explore and tell more stories of Chongqing, promote Taiwan compatriots and businessmen join hands with Chongqing to work together and share opportunities, so as to write a new chapter of Chongqing and Taiwan developing together.

The cross-Straits joint interview ran between July 11 and 19 in Sichuan and Chongqing. The joint interview themed on the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle invited 46 journalists to interview and report economic and social development in these two places.
