Chongqing- The joint interview of journalists on both sides of the Taiwan-Straits visiting southwestern China came to a close on Sunday evening. The joint interview delegation arrived in Sichuan Province on July 11 and departed on July 19 in Chongqing Municipality.

More than 40 journalists from 20 media outlets on both sides of the Straits and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region conducted a series of interviews on the topic of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
"The journalists see economic development as well as scientific and technological innovation, and understand ecological conservation, culture, civilization and people’s happiness in Sichuan and Chongqing,” said Ma Xiaoguang, head of the joint interview delegation and director-general of the Information Bureau of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council on Saturday.
He also noted that against the backdrop of the epidemic control and prevention, the joint interview, more importantly, communicated messages on both sides of the Straits. More specifically, from the Chinese mainland to the Taiwan region this time. "I believe media on both sides of the Straits can report more information," Ma said and added, "It aims to enhance communication and understanding of compatriots on both sides, and that's the ultimate significance of exchanges.”
The week-long event was co-hosted by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the All-China Association of Journalists. Moreover, the joint interview conducted by journalists on both sides of the Straits began in 1992, and it's committed to promoting cross-Straits exchanges and communication.
