The Smart China Expo 2021 (SCE 2021) will kick off in Chongqing. What is the significance of hosting the SCEs for the development of Chongqing? “The SCEs have built a platform for the social and economic development of Chongqing,” said Wang Guoyin, vice president of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. "For the general public, the SCE is also a feast of science popularization, which subconsciously enhances the scientific literacy of the public.”
Chongqing Xiantao International Big Data Valley has undertaken many activities such as forums of the past SCEs. In the view of Xu Yi, deputy general manager of Chongqing Xiantao Data Valley Investment Management Co., Ltd., Chongqing Xiantao International Big Data Valley has enjoyed many benefits from the SCEs.
In his opinion, under the close attention of renowned experts and scholars worldwide, the SCEs serve as a platform to transmit their research and development achievements to cutting-edge fields.
In other words, the continuous holding of the SCEs has accelerated the internationalization of Chongqing and the gathering of innovation elements.
“How can you build a smart city? How can you integrate the digital economy with the real economy? It is of good importance for government managers, technology companies, and industrial enterprises to perceive these issues,” said Cao Yifang, CEO of Xinfeng Think Tank. "The world's leading experts and scholars gather at the SCE 2021 to offer insights on these issues, inspiring us to form a more systematic perception of big data intelligence."
He believed that the SCEs also serve as a platform for resource integration, which can attract capital and intelligence to Chongqing, including top universities like Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Northwestern Polytechnic University, as well as some corporate giants like Tencent and Iflytek Co.Ltd.
"As they promote their overall layout in Chongqing, this will help the city to form an industrial ecology for the development of intelligent big data," said Cao.

“To achieve high-quality economic development, we have to blaze a path of independent innovation," said Wang. "I expect more groundbreaking results to emerge from the SCE 2021, motivating us to create a new theory, model and method. The more such elements are, the more dynamic our innovative development will be, and the brighter the brand of the SCE 2021 will shine."
Considering Chongqing is a manufacturing city, Wang hopes to see more achievements related to the deep integration of artificial intelligence and the real economy at the SCE 2021.
“I hope that all industries can be 'smarter', such as the development of smart manufacturing, intelligent health, and etc., to meet the people’s aspirations for a better life,” said Wang.
At the same time, Cao is also concerned about the development of the Industrial Internet.
He said that Industrial Internet is the inevitable course to smart manufacturing. Chongqing‘s manufacturing industry has a deep foundation, which can provide fertile soil for the landing and application of the Industrial Internet.
In recent years, some national Industrial Internet head enterprises have been laid out in Chongqing, with some local Industrial Internet enterprises emerging at the same time. They try their best in automobile manufacturing, heavy industry, construction industry, and other fields.
"We look forward to seeing outstanding and cutting-edge Industrial Internet solutions at the SCE 2021," said Cao.
