Chongqing Opportunity: Consumption Upgrading in the City

Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street is the first commercial pedestrian street in western China and is replete with several modern shopping malls bustling with tourists and locals. There is also now a 5G Smart Pedestrian Street Exhibition Hall where visitors can take a peek into new technology set to feature in everyday life soon.

The iconic landmark of Raffles City is home to a sparkling new shopping center with airport and railway city terminals, which makes even a brief stay in Chongqing the perfect opportunity for shopping.

"Little Bangkok" is now a vibrant street and online hotspot packed with trendy new bars and cafès. Here, James enjoyed his coffee hour and shared a surprise conversation with a graffiti artist who often frequents this intriguing little corner of Chongqing.

Building an international consumption center city is part of Chongqing's 14th Five-Year Plan and 2035 vision proposal. In July, Chongqing released the "Main Work Points for Construction of Chongqing as an International Consumption Center City in 2021", including 30 major ongoing tasks. We're looking forward to this opportunity to bring more advantages to the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and enhance the future competitiveness of Chongqing.
