Chongqing- As a significant traffic infrastructure construction project of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Terminal T3B and the fourth runway of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport started construction in November 2020, with a total project budget of 3.5 billion dollars. It is a very important project for Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport to accelerate the construction plan of building an international aviation hub that is scheduled to be completed in 2024. The project will complete the airport with four runways and four terminals to meet the needs of serving 80 million passengers, 580,000 aircraft take-offs and landings, 1.2 million tons cargo and mail throughput every year.
Based on Jiangbei International Airport and with a planned area of 9.8 square kilometers, Chongqing Airport-type National Logistics Hub was listed among 25 hubs of this kind in China. The hub has a core functional area in the south and a complementary functional area in the north that linkage 16 hundred billion-level industrial parks with an annual output value of more than 2 trillion yuan. Right now, Chongqing has become the only city in the country that has a port-type, land-port-type, and air-port-type national logistics hub.
