Chongqing- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang delivered the Government Work Report at the fifth annual session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC).
The format is similar to the State of the Union, which President Biden of the USA delivered on March. 1. The State of the Union is a constitutionally-mandated message to a joint session of US Congress.
"Zhengfu Gongzuo Baogao" means the Government Work Report, which gives a comprehensive overview of China's national economic and social development over the previous year and lays out general guidelines for Chinese government policy for the current year.
A key component of the Chinese government work report is the disclosure of various economic targets, including gross domestic product, the central government's fiscal deficit ratio, bond issuance quotas for local governments, as well as targets for consumer inflation, disposable income, urban job creation, and unemployment rates.
