Chongqing- On July 5, the press conference of the 2022 China Wuling Cultural and Tourism Summit kicked off. The summit, organized by Wuling Mountain Cultural Tourism Development Alliance, will be launched in Youyang County Chongqing from July 16 to 18.

Pool the tourism resources of four provinces

The summit will invite relevant state ministries and commissions, foreign consulates-general in Chongqing, governments, and cultural tourism departments from 11 cities, 73 districts, and counties in the Wuling Mountain area of Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, and Guizhou to join the meeting. At the same time, internationally renowned cultural tourism organizations, scientific research institutions, related cultural and tourism enterprises, and well-known experts and scholars will also be invited to attend the event to discuss the development of the cultural and tourism industry and cooperation in the Wuling Mountains area.

Focusing on the theme of "Same Source of Landscape, Common Development of Wuling", the 2022 China Wuling Mountain Cultural and Tourism Summit aims to vigorously implement the regional coordinated development strategy, actively promoting the integrated and coordinated development of the Wuling Mountain area, which encompasses the four provinces of Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou.

Liu Qi, director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, indicated that the summit this year would have three highlights and features. "This summit will display cultural tourism resources of the Wuling Mountain area in an all-around and multi-level manner. Meanwhile, the event will pool the tourism resources of four provinces to develop together. Besides, the meeting aims to boost the cultural tourism consumer market of the Wuling Mountain area in multiple ways," said Liu.

Top Ten Travel Routes will be released 

According to the press conference, the summit will use an immersive way to display Wuling resources comprehensively in different aspects of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste.

The Achievement Exhibition of Wuling Mountain Cultural Tourism Development Alliance will be held during the summit. In addition, other activities will comprehensively display and promote the magnificent landscapes, ethnic customs, boutique travel routes and cultural landscapes in the Wuling Mountain area. For example, there will be a cultural evening with local style, a photography competition of the local landscape, regional scenic spot exhibitions and a collection of cultural tourism mascots for Wuling Mountain.

Moreover, there will be a series of selection activities, such as China · Wuling Twelve Scenes, Top Ten Cultural Tourism Marketing Cases and Top Ten Travel Routes in Wuling.

Brainstorms for exploring integrated development

In terms of gathering tourism resources of the Wuling Mountain area, the summit this year is a high-level event related to cultural tourism for the second time. It is co-organized by the four provinces in the area of Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou.

There will be some meetings and conferences during the event, such as membership meetings, council meetings and special committee meetings of the Wuling Mountain Culture and Tourism Development Alliance. Also, focusing on the theme of "Same Source of Landscape, Common Development of Wuling", the summit forum for integrating cultural tourism to help promote rural revitalization.

At the same time, heads of the district government and cultural and tourism departments, well-known cultural and tourism experts and scholars domestic and abroad, and representatives of cultural and tourism enterprises will gather together to discuss the trend and prospects of the integrated development of Wuling Mountain's cultural and tourism industries. All sides come together to brainstorm and explore the effective path for integrated and high-quality development for the four provinces.

Boosting the consumer market 

Furthermore, to boost the Wuling Mountain area's cultural tourism consumer market, Chongqing will launch a number of cultural tourism consumption boosting activities based on this summit. For example, there will be joint exhibitions of cultural and creative products and special commodities as well as activities of food selection and exhibitions.

The event will invite famous enterprises from 73 counties and districts in 11 cities in the Wuling Mountain area to participate in special commodity exhibitions and food exhibitions. At the same time, focusing on the Wuling Mountain area, selection activities, such as top ten banquets, top ten dishes, top ten snacks, Tujia liquor and so on, will be open to the public.

All activities help to promote the Wuling food brand, enhance its popularity, and strengthen food and cultural exchanges in the Wuling Mountain area, stimulating consumption through on-site sales.
