When will it rain?
Since the beginning of July, the city's average temperature has been 29.7℃, which is 2.8℃ higher than the same period (26.9℃) last year. It is expected that from July 13 to 16th, the heat will continue due to the subtropical high-pressure system.
It is expected that from the afternoon of July 16 to July 19, influenced by cold air and the southwest vortex, there will be intense rainfall. Moderate to heavy rain in central and western Chongqing and northeast Chongqing, accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall, thunder, and lightning. The maximum temperature will gradually drop below 33℃, temporarily easing the intense summer heat.

Advice to citizens and foreigners in Chongqing involves reasonably arranging outdoor activities for scorching summer days. Road water-logging, landslides, and other secondary disasters should also be prevented, especially from July 16 to 19th.
Reaching 50℃? Fake news
"Recently, we noticed some Internet spreading the news that the temperature in Chongqing will reach 50℃," said Zhou Guobing, director of the Chongqing Meteorological Observatory. "It is false. Please do not believe the rumor, and do not spread it."
How is the temperature measured? Zhou said that temperature refers to thermometer temperatures measured in shelters 1.5 meters above the ground. According to the meteorological observation specification, measuring the temperature must be finished in an open place, and the thermometer should be put on the thermometer screen, 1.5 meters above the ground. The screen requires good ventilation to avoid the sun's direct illuminating and the influence of ground reflection of light and heat.
Somatosensory temperature refers to the air temperature the human body perceives in different environments. Under the same temperature conditions, people will have different cold and warm feelings due to humidity, wind speed, solar radiation, dress color, and even mood. For example, at the same temperature, the higher the humidity, the more sultry it feels; In the case of wind, wind can take the body heat away, so there's a difference between what the body feels and the scientific temperature.
Pay attention to fire safety
Meanwhile, people at home must pay attention to fire safety under hot weather, especially on air conditioning, refrigerator, electric fans, and other electrical appliances under high load operation. Furthermore, mosquito repellent and mobile phone chargers should be unplugged immediately after use.
