Chongqing’s Cross-border E-commerce is on the Rise | Exclusive

Chongqing- In Chongqing, the Fourth Cross-border E-commerce (WCIFIT) and the China (Chongqing) Cross-Border E-Commerce Trade Forum were held from July 21 to July 24. Xibei Wang, the General Manager of Alliance (Chongqing) E-commerce Co., Ltd., shared his thoughts on the co-organization of the two conferences. Chongqing's cross-border E-commerce is booming, he claimed.

As a practitioner of cross-border E-commerce, Wang Xibei said, "I think Chongqing's cross-border E-commerce is relatively weak. The export of cross-border e-commerce is still in a developmental stage." Wang Xibei said that Chongqing, as a municipality directly under the Central Government, did not have a cross-border E-commerce association with gathering benefits, which makes it difficult for practitioners to cooperate and co-develop. "As for exports, there is still much to be done,” Wang said.

Conferences such as WCIFIT provide excellent opportunities for practitioners to take advantage of the fair and explore cooperation opportunities with foreign consulates and chambers of commerce. "For the first time, the WCIFIT introduces the cross-border E-commerce forum," said Wang. "Chongqing's cross-border E-commerce business industry is being boosted by bringing these two forums together."

Many domestic big sellers and E-commerce platforms participated in the two forums, and offline activities were organized to facilitate communication and exchange, promoting cooperation.

WCIFIT will also facilitate more cooperation, according to Wang. "Chongqing's cross-border E-commerce development trend should be positive, pointing to its labor costs, talent resources, and logistics advantages, including water, land, and air," said Wang. "The young people of Chongqing, like those in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, are very open and receptive to novel ideas. The city is, therefore, promising."

Additionally, Wang Xibei suggested Chongqing should focus on its industrial belt integration and upgrade to create better products for global consumers, strengthening the industry and enhancing its market.
