Exporting Chongqing’s Culture via Hong Kong’s International Licensing Professional Services Platform

Chongqing- On July 27, a salon themed on "Chinese Culture and Tourism IP Licensing" was held in Window for International Exchanges of Chongqing Culture & Tourism (WICT). The salon was co-hosted by Chongqing Culture and Tourism Development Committee and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Chongqing's unique tourism resources, such as the Dazu Rock Carvings, the Three Gorges of Yangtze River, and the highly distinctive 8D cityscape, are going global and will receive more support from Hong Kong.

The organizers expressed their hope that the salon would promote win-win cooperation between Chongqing and Hong Kong in terms of culture and tourism and the development of Chongqing's culture and tourism industry. Enterprises from Chongqing and Hong Kong will further strengthen their cooperation in the licensing industry and develop a broader market for Chongqing's culture and tourism.

Eileen Zhu, Director of Chongqing Office of HKTDC, said it is quite common in the developing culture and tourism industry to create immersive experience scenes and IP co-branding to provide functional, ornamental, and aesthetic products and services for the public.

HKTDC holds the largest exhibition and conference for licensing industry in Asia each year. Eileen also mentioned this should be an excellent platform to import foreign brands and export local brands. "We also found that Chongqing has various resources of licensed products, including intangible cultural heritage, museum collections, ethnic culture, 8D modern landscapes, and natural sceneries. They are all priceless." She hopes enterprises in Chongqing and Hong Kong will strengthen cooperation in licensing, use Hong Kong's international licensing professional services platform to export Chongqing's culture, and expand a broader market for Chongqing's valuable culture and tourism resources.
