You can see how smart technology has made a difference in multiple areas at the First People's Hospital of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area.
Among the highlights is a multipurpose self-service machine allowing patients to manage the entire medical care process. Upon scanning their ID cards, patients can immediately register their personal information, make appointments, pay bills, inquire about medicines, and arrange inpatient care.
The use of technology, such as self-service medication dispensers and smart printout terminals for scanned images, often allows patients to need to visit the hospital for a medical consultation only one time. The rest can be handled personally by user-friendly machines and applications.
Furthermore, remote diagnosis applications allow patients to receive medical care at a local clinic without traveling to a large hospital. By connecting remotely to major hospitals, images can be sent for diagnosis to expert doctors when capacity or availability is limited.
So far, the municipal data platform for medical institutions has online access to 227 public hospitals. The Health Information Exchange System has collected 14 billion pieces of data.
Medical and health institutions numbering over 200 have been linked across Chongqing.
