National New Area Releases Lists for Upgrading Smart Capability

CHONGQING - Liangjiang New Area, a state-level new area situated in Chongqing, China, recently released two lists as the official guide to upgrading the city's smart capability to the next level.

Those are the List of Smart City Construction Application Scenarios (the first batch in 2022) and the Software and Information Service Industry Enterprise Capability List (the first batch in 2022), aiming to help the city's software and information service industry development.

The List of Smart City Construction Application Scenarios focuses on intelligent connected vehicles, including 30 application scenarios like intelligent connected vehicle safety application service, high-precision map, and autonomous vehicle remote supervision. According to the list, the government plans to invest 5.1 million yuan in building safety application service scenarios, which enable vehicles to remotely receive information like road traffic ahead and other vehicles' positions.

The Software and Information Service Industry Enterprise Capability List covers 60 service capability supplies, including digital twins, smart communities, and big data system risk control. The list includes the big data risk control system of Mashang Consumer Finance, a tech-driven financial institution with a consumer finance license from the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, and was recognized and verified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Academy of Information and Communication Technology.

All the projects have already completed bidding and listed the companies who will take on specific tasks.

Liangjiang New Area has made progress in both the smart vehicle and information industries.

Earlier this year, the new area launched several smart vehicle system projects in which the smart parking system is a key focus.

Two smart parking buildings are in construction, including Lijia, a subdistrict of Liangjiang New Area, that has been conceived to house a range of research and development spaces within an intelligent and collaborative environment. With areas totaling 80,000 square meters, the buildings will adopt full-automated robots to serve about 2,000 parking spaces.

Besides that, a digital capital operation center for smart parking was registered in Liangjiang New Area. The operating company, TYPARK, is aligned with the local government and dedicated to integrating the city's parking system with big data to improve parking efficiency.

Liangjiang New Area is also building a big data cluster at Shuitu New Town as a key supplement to the data integration of the Chengdu-Chongqing region.
