Wide Discounts and Glitzy Events to Promote Revival in Winter Consumption

Chongqing- The seventh Public Benefit Consumption Season through Cultural Tourism was unveiled in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on December 16th, which will last from this month through March 2022. It will focus on urban tourism, winter landscapes, and performance arts and will also see an integrated approach from industry associations and market players in all districts and counties across Chongqing.

In recent weeks, the general lifting of epidemic controls shortly before the traditional winter travel season has prompted an urgent campaign to revive the tourist economy across the city in the hope that a wide range of special and innovative public events, travel experiences, and generous discounts will succeed in attracting greater visitor numbers and stimulate consumer activity.

A grand launch ceremony will be held at the Waitan Plaza in Jiulongpo District from December 22-24, when more than 150 top merchants will create an exciting three-day consumer fair with themes ranging from cultural innovation, intangible heritage, fine wine, gourmet, and art experiences. In addition, the center stage will put on the live theatrical performance of Bayu Charm, the Yudu Live Night Music Festival, and other wonderful activities to attract citizens out of their homes and restore the downtown vibrancy in the shortest possible timeframe.

Wushan County will also participate in the Consumption Season as they continue to promote cultural tourism development and economic recovery in the Three Gorges Area. Activities will focus on the Three Gorges Light Night Tour, the Wushan Citrus Orchard Festival, and the county's first Ice and Snow Tourism Festival. At the same time, the Xiazhuang Rural Cultural Tourism Conference will explore new paths for the empowerment of rural revitalization.

These will seamlessly integrate the unique night scene, urban art, winter tourism, live performances, and fashionable consumption amongst the general public. At the same time, the 38 districts and counties of Chongqing Municipality will also highlight the local characteristics of a richly diversified consumption atmosphere.
