China Chic Products of the Zodiac Rabbit Prove a Hit During the Spring Festival

Chongqing - With the end of the seven-day Spring Festival holiday on January 27, the Chinese New Year hot-selling goods list has been freshly released, including China Chic products of the Chinese Zodiac Rabbit, and imported fruits.

China Chic products, which refers to the unique expression of Chinese culture in products and brands, has become a trendy topic in recent years. Significantly, China Chic products of the Chinese Zodiac Rabbit are popular because the Rabbit symbolizes longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese Culture, representing a year of hope. 

According to a manager from the division of Chongqing Department Store Co., Ltd., since New Year, the products welcomed by consumers involve Chinese Zodiac Rabbit-related red envelopes, couplets, pendants, and other goods. 

These products skillfully combine the image of the Rabbit with Chinese elements, and the number of sales increased by about 40% year-on-year.

According to the data from Vipshop, a Chinese platform specializing in online discount sales, the sales of domestic brand Warrior, which launched a series of Chinese Chic products for the Year of Rabbit, soared by 108% during the Spring Festival.

Also, 361 Degrees, a sportswear brand based in China, launched a variety of Chinese Chic clothing for the Year of the Rabbit, with sales increasing by 188% year-on-year.

Data from Meituan shows that since the Little New Year, also known as Xiaonian, on January 14, usually a week before the Lunar New Year, various New Year products containing Rabbit elements have increased by 477% year-on-year. The sales of Rabbit lucky red envelopes increased by 500% year-on-year.

Increased imports of cherries and strawberry gift boxes 

During this Spring Festival, sales of imported high-end fruits increased by 35% year-on-year. The imported cherries have become the most popular fruit this year's Spring Festival.

With the increase in visiting relatives and friends this year, the demand for gifts has increased significantly, and consumers pay more attention to the quality of life, including a more diverse selection of food. 

The relevant manager from Dingdong (Cayman) Limited Chongqing branch revealed that the imports of cherries and strawberry gift boxes increased by more than 200% year-on-year.  

The data from Ele.me, an online food ordering platform in China, shows that imported cherries, domestic liquor, and other high-quality goods have become the best and most popular categories of special purchases for the Spring Festival this year, with an increase of more than two times month-on-month.

Daily supplies as best sellers

In addition, quilt covers and slippers have also become a highlight of special purchases for the Spring Festival.

Since New Year, people have purchased many daily supplies, and the sales of daily supplies have increased by more than 50% year-on-year.

The manager from the Chongqing Department Store Co., Ltd. division said that quilt covers and slippers became the best sellers of special purchases for the Spring Festival, which had never happened before. 

He said purchasing household items was because everyone hopes to get together during the Spring Festival after adjusting epidemic prevention and control policies.
