International Student Returns to Chongqing After the Pandemic

Chongqing - Vietnamese student NGUYEN HUYEN TRANG, who had been studying at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), has finally returned to China after three years stuck outside China due to the pandemic. She had to rely on online classes and recordings to continue her studies remotely.

Although she had excellent academic performance winning the Mayoral Scholarship for international students every year, as an international student, she faced many difficulties when the pandemic hit. The travel restrictions prevented her from returning to China to continue her offline studies, causing her to stay caught up in her coursework. The time difference between several countries made participating actively in discussions and engaging with his classmates and professors challenging.

However, NGUYEN HUYEN TRANG did not give up on her studies and continued to learn Chinese and improve her language skills. She even took an online Chinese language course provided by the university to help her prepare for her return to China.

TRANG is grateful to study in person again because she feels the online classes provide a different level of interaction and engagement than in a physical classroom  and she is looking forward to making up for lost time and catching up with her studies (and her friends).

CQUPT has taken steps to support international students during the pandemic, including offering online courses and assisting with visa and travel arrangements. The university is committed to ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education, regardless of the challenges posed by the pandemic.
