Experience Coffee Culture at the 2023 Chongqing International Coffee Festival

The 2023 Chongqing International Coffee Festival commenced on Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street in Yuzhong District from April 26 to 28. 

The event aims to capitalize on Chongqing's geographical advantages fully, connect international consumer resources, and establish an international consumption environment. By doing so, it seeks to further promote the integration of international coffee brands, trendy beverages, high-end industries, and other resources and production factors within the municipality.

Themed "Kaweh, Essential in a Cozy City," this year's Coffee Festival features a large-scale event encompassing the entire coffee industry chain. This includes coffee brand exhibitions and sales, coffee equipment displays and transactions, unroasted coffee bean trading, and coffee knowledge exchanges. The festival has garnered enthusiastic support from numerous Chinese and foreign coffee associations. It has invited international trade organizations and over 20 international brands from more than 10 Latin American, Asian, and African countries, such as El Salvador, Panama, Honduras, Brazil, Mexico, Jamaica, and Kenya, to participate in the exhibition. Invited exhibitors also include 120 Chinese brand merchants from 17 provincial regions, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Inner Mongolia.

Coffee culture exchange between Chongqing and the world

Prominent international coffee chains and popular Chinese coffee brands have been invited to participate in this year's International Coffee Festival to foster cultural exchange and collaboration between Chongqing and the global coffee community. Twelve coffee brands, including Sweden's OATLY CN LOGO and CREM, France's MONIN, the United States' Starbucks, Singapore's TAG ESPRESSO, and China's Luckin Coffee, will showcase their latest summer offerings.

Coffee traders gather to promote coffee trade exchange and cooperation

Leveraging Chongqing's strengths as a coffee trading hub, a node city of the Belt and Road Initiative, a significant city in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and an international consumption center, the festival has invited coffee traders from China and other countries as well as coffee buyers from across China to gather in Yuzhong District. This event aims to deepen cultural exchange and collaboration in the coffee industry through procurement conferences and related activities. Simultaneously, the festival provides an international stage for suppliers and purchasers worldwide to showcase their products and engage in meaningful dialogue.

The exhibition features over 20 leading enterprises in coffee facilities and unroasted coffee beans, including Vietnam's Trung Nguyen Group, Shanghai Hongshuo Coffee Co., Ltd., Yuka Trading, Donlim, Feimei, Santos, Hiang Kie, and Tianyang. Shanghai Hongshuo Coffee Co., Ltd. will display Colombia's Rose Valley, Honduras' Padrino Morod Manor, Panama's Green Label Geisha, and Sumatra's exceptionally rare civet coffee beans. Italy's coffee hotspot, COFEFEST, will present 11 varieties. Vietnam's largest coffee trader, Trung Nguyen Group, will bring local coffee beans to the event.

Concurrently, the Tropical Coffee Party Chongqing will host the Latin American Coffee Procurement and Negotiation Fair at the Chongqing International Coffee Festival, where coffee merchants from El Salvador and Panama will showcase their coffee beans. The event will also feature the El Salvador Coffee Fan Meeting and El Salvador and Panama Coffee Cup Tasters. The goal is to promote international coffee trade and foster the sustainable development of the coffee industry.
