Chongqing - The 12th China Wujiang River Miao Culture Festival and China Pengshui Aquatic Sports Competition are set to take place on May 26th at Chiyou Jiuli City, Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, Chongqing.
Pengshui is the only minority autonomous county in Chongqing, gathering the largest Miao ethnic group around China. It also boasts Chiyou Jiuli City, China's significant traditional architectural complex of the Miao People.
Pengshui has developed a featured dance called "Caihuashan," entertainment and fitness. Every year, on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month, Pengshui Miao people are accustomed to wearing traditional dresses to celebrate the Caihuashan Festival, when they will sing in an antiphonal style, dance, perform the lion dance, practice crossbow, kick shuttlecock, and climb along a long pole for competing.

The Caihuashan Festival is a significant traditional festival for the Miao people, which aims to honor their ancestors, Chiyou, and pray for happiness and good fortune.
This year, Pengshui will organize various activities at the Chiyou Jili City scenic area to celebrate the Caihuashan Festival and the Chiyou sacrifice ceremony. These events include the opening ceremony, the Chiyou Cultural and art week, the Chongqing Third Street Dance Competition, and the dance and folk song party.

The Mowei Mountain scenic area will also host the Miao matchmaking event and the Chongqing WorWorkers'lking Competition. Pengshui will also hold other activities, such as the Hundred Travel Agencies Tour, the Third Miao Culture and Tourism Development Seminar, and the 2023 Rural Tourism event.
The China Pengshui Aquatic Sports Competition will include the China Motorboat League, the "Clear Waters, and the Green Mountains" China Leisure Sports Challenge.
The 12th China Motorboat League Chongqing Pengshui Grand Prix will be held in the Wujiang River of Pengshui Autonomous County from May 24th to 27th, attracting more than 30 sports teams from all over the country to compete.

On May 28th, the "Green Water and Blue Mountain" China Leisure Sports Challenge will take place in Wujiang River, including paddleboarding and cross-country running competitions, with more than 200 athletes from across the country participating.
Pengshui will host the 11th China Pengshui Ayi River Rafting Competition and the 7th Qinglong Valley Outdoor Sports Challenge at the Ayi River scenic area in June.
