On May 5, Hongyadong Folk Customs Area technicians were busy upgrading the smart culture and tourism system and equipping key spots with high technology.
"Hongyadong Scenic Spot covers a floor area of more than 60,000 square meters floor and receives over 500,000 tourists in five days. There has not been a single safety accident. For example, measures to limit the number of people and close the bridge have been adopted in a precise and well-conceived manner, for which the smart Culture and Tourism system provides important technical support," said Zhang Qi, general manager of Hongyadong Scenic Spot Management Company.

Not long ago, Chongqing hosted the Digital Chongqing Construction Conference to make decisions regarding its digital infrastructure.
"We are both beneficiaries and practitioners of digital construction," said Zhang Qi, explaining that Hongyadong has comprehensively upgraded its smart culture and tourism system, building on the original "smart scenic spot" system to enhance tourism management, influence, service quality, and visitor experience.
"The upgraded system features numerous innovative digital applications. It is highly reliable, advanced, and replicable and is expected to be operational this year," stated Wang Fei, Operations Director of Changjia Culture and Tourism Company, regarding the system upgrade.
The construction encompasses the base, perception, data, and application, covering the scenic spot management and control platform, scenic spot big data center, security control system, operation and management system, tourist service system, financial management system, and more. For example, the tourist service system can provide visitors with parking reservations, tour guides, information releases, robot services, and smart trail services, creating a futuristic and technologically advanced experience.
The digital construction of Hongyadong exemplifies Chongqing's firm commitment to promoting digital culture and tourism infrastructure. In recent years, digital applications have become widespread across cultural tourism spots in Chongqing.
For instance, the digital tourism system for Dazu Rock Carvings integrates new digital technologies like radar interplay, 3D digital library, and MR interaction, allowing visitors to explore the site anytime and anywhere. Wuling Mountain's smart tourism information platform combines various technologies, such as the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, GIS, and software system integration. This platform integrates culture and tourism data collection and management, video surveillance and collection, internet data aggregation, and public services for tourists, working on displaying resources, monitoring, and providing public services. The "Visiting Wulong with One Machine" platform offers tourists one-stop intelligent services in travel information acquisition, route planning, product reservation, travel note sharing, and e-commerce goods through functions like customized route planning, recommendations, intelligent customization, and smart tour guides.
"The construction of digital culture and tourism is the development trend for the culture and tourism industry," said a Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development representative. This year, Chongqing will further implement the action plan for the construction of digital culture and tourism by promoting the construction of smart culture and tourism broadcasting cloud, improving the culture and tourism data release mechanism, advancing the sharing of government affairs data related to culture and tourism between Chengdu and Chongqing, driving the digital construction of documentation and cultural centers in demonstration areas, and enhancing municipal platforms for emergency broadcasting systems, among other initiatives. The goal is to elevate the application level of digital resources for culture and tourism.
