Chongqing- The Blooming June Graduation Artwork Exhibition has become a well-known fixture on the national art scene in China, where more than 1,300 budding artists from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCFAI) display their masterpieces for public viewing, with some even open for bids from art lovers nationwide.
Starting on May 31 the exhibition has been open to the public free of charge at the SCFAI Art Museum until June 18, Sunday. During this time, over 400,000 people are expected to visit the diverse and creative artwork on display.
In this vlog, iChongqing reporter James Alexander muscles into the venue among the enthusiastic crowds, and on the keen suggestions of a SCFAI administrator, explores diverse creations themed on new energy, figures blending traditional Chinese culture and technological innovation, and even digital projections displaying ancient phenology through artistic expression.
Despite being a relative novice when it comes to artistic creations, James had the fortune of meeting both staff and graduating students inside the exhibition halls, and learnt first-hand the essence and sources of inspiration behind their work, while Director Zhang was on hand to describe the significance of this event for both the university and society at large.
