This July, a variety of magnificent shows will grace the stages of Chongqing, offering locals and tourists a taste of enthralling stage technologies, historical narratives, melodious music, dynamic dance performances, and gripping tales.

Drama Returning Home on a Snowy Night

Time: July 14-30

This drama narrates the love story of Yuchun, a concubine who yearns for freedom and love, and Wei Liansheng, a renowned actor in Peking Opera. The narrative reveals the societal awakening of individuals marginalized in society and criticizes society's cold and ruthless nature. In 2021, the Chongqing Drama Theatre officially commenced the rehearsal project of classic dramas about the War of Resistance. Returning Home on a Snowy Night (2023), the second production in this project, will be performed at Kangjian Hall, aiming to promote the War of Resistance-themed drama culture and represent the golden age of Chinese drama development.
