Chongqing - From July 5 to July 7, the 2023 Wuling Cultural and Tourism Conference, organized by the Wuling Cultural and Tourism Development League, the Chongqing Cultural and Tourism Committee, and the Qianjiang District Government, unfolded in Qianjiang District, Chongqing.
The conference welcomed municipal leaders from the cultural and tourism department and other relevant departments, as well as experts and scholars from Chongqing, Hubei Province, Hunan Province, Guizhou Province, and Sichuan Province, to share their perspectives on the integrated development of culture and tourism. Wuling Mountain's cultural and tourism cooperation programs managed to secure contracts amounting to 20.25 billion yuan (USD 2.9 billion).
Spanning four areas – Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, and Guizhou – Wuling Mountain is rich in natural and recreational tourism resources. It includes four world natural heritages, 13 national-level 5A tourist scenic areas, and over 120 national-level 4A tourist scenic areas. This conference aims to encourage collaboration and further boost Wuling Mountain's cultural and tourism industry, widening its influence and probing into new development avenues.

Themed forum delivers fresh insights on Wuling Mountain's tourism development
With a high market demand, the cultural and tourism industry has seen a swift recovery and transformation, introducing new trends and challenges. This forum furnished valuable insights and actionable solutions for the Wuling Mountain region, addressing political barriers, enhancing coordination, and fostering regional collaboration.

"Wuling Mountain is home to four acclaimed world natural heritage sites," said Jia Yunfeng from the UN World Tourism Organization. "It's essential to build the Wuling Mountain brand by capitalizing on its diverse tourist resources, including food, night views, and sports activities. Simultaneously, crafting personalized products in Wuling Mountain can draw younger generations to establish businesses there and stimulate consumption."

Besides the discussions, the conference offered attendees a variety of cultural and tourism activities, like an engaging song and dance poetry, artistic drama gala, intangible cultural heritage exhibition, and Chinese Pop Culture Carnival, enabling visitors to savor the allure of the Wuling Mountains.
On the afternoon of July 6, the promotional event for cultural and tourist programs of Wuling Mountain started in Zhuoshui Ancient Town. Sixteen programs, including the Qianjiang City Valley Exploitation Program and the Beishan Original Power Ecological Parent-Child Amusement Park Project, cemented partnerships with a total contract amount of 20.25 billion yuan.
"Compared to previous years, this conference serves as a larger platform with richer content and more creative formats, boosting the confidence and yielding greater rewards for the tourism industry," shared a Wuling Mountain Cultural and Tourism Development League representative. "The conference stokes the enthusiasm of relevant parties, and we will harness this momentum to propel the development of the tourism industry."
