Themed on the new Chongqing in everybody's view, the event highlights the city's contemporary appearance and evolving lifestyles. Through the medium of captivating photos and videos, the story of Chongqing unfolds, exuding its distinctive charm for all to witness and appreciate.

In the next month, the event will collect exceptional photos and short videos online. It invites enthusiastic citizens to contribute their unique perspectives, effectively narrating their personal stories and experiences in Chongqing. This novel approach, embracing an open attitude, provides an excellent opportunity for citizens to pay tribute to the spirit of the new era.
Tell Chinese Story to the World, Spread Chongqing's Voice
On July 26, the third New Chongqing 2023· Citizens' Photography Plan commenced in the Mixc in Chongqing. This event will leverage Chongqing's abundant visual resources to showcase the city's unique allure globally.
Ma Ranxi, Deputy Director-General of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, shared that Chongqing boasts distinctive features and charm appreciated by its residents. This event provides an opportunity for the residents to be storytellers, narrating Chongqing's journey and proudly showcasing optimism, hospitality, and other indomitable spirit of its local people to the world.
The opening ceremony gathered about 100 representatives from various backgrounds, including enterprises, social organizations, media, higher education, city photographers, and residents.
Photographers' Thoughts: The Power of Photography Works
In recent years, countless remarkable photography works have played a pivotal role in promoting Chongqing to a global audience. The talented creators behind these captivating images were honored guests at the opening ceremony, sharing their invaluable experiences and insights.
Zhou Neng, a renowned aerial photographer, captivated the audience with his work, Chongqing's Train in the Cloud Sea. Through his lens, the mesmerizing image of a train gliding through the sea of clouds at sunrise was captured, encapsulating the uniqueness of Chongqing's landscape.

He expressed that creating a captivating short video required tremendous effort and dedication. While most people slumbered peacefully, these dedicated photographers lingered around the Caijia Jialin River Bridge for that perfect moment to unfold. The overwhelming popularity of his masterpiece also served as a testament to the remarkable improvement in Chongqing's ecological environment, which in turn laid a solid foundation for the continued growth of the culture and tourism sectors.
Last August, a profoundly moving photo titled "Starry Great Wall" touched many as it depicted the devastating forest fire in Chongqing.
The photographer Zhou Xuan revealed that he was touched at the moment of capturing the image, where lights artfully converged to form the shape of the Chinese character "人" (pronounced as "ren"), meaning "people" in English, and the union was visualized. Besides, he called upon more individuals to partake in photography, exhibiting the charm of Chongqing, a city teeming with countless scenic wonders and touching narratives awaiting exploration and immortalization through the lens.

Chen Yunyuan captured a dynamic scene incorporating a bustling railway, an elegant bridge, pedestrians on the move, an overpass soaring above, and a constant flow of vehicles—all harmoniously merged into a single frame. His pictures showcase Chongqing's unique landscape, known as 8D Chongqing. He shared that photography helps people record their life and expresses the creators' passion for life.

He said, "Chongqing is a city of wonders in the eyes of urban photographers: a city of wondrous three-dimensionality, wondrous ecology, and wondrous vitality."
A three-dimensional Chongqing came to life through his lens, where various elements seamlessly merged. Within the frame, one could witness the vibrant essence of the city, with scenes ranging from a bustling vegetable market to busy steps filled with pedestrians, showcasing the dynamic and diverse local lifestyles. He said, "Chongqing, the mountain city embraced by rivers, has been a boundless source of inspiration for me." The city's distinctive landscape, characterized by its bridges and enchanting stories, fuels his creative spirit, resulting in awe-inspiring works that capture the essence of this remarkable metropolis.
