This original ballet combines Chinese ethnicity, historical context, and the essence of Chongqing in its international performance, making it a prominent cultural masterpiece with a distinct Chongqing identity.

The ballet vividly depicts the period of the "Chongqing Bombing" during World War II. It portrays the experiences of patriotic artists who returned to Chongqing from overseas, joining the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and caring for the war-affected children, reflecting the artists' dedication to their craft and deep commitment to their homeland during wartime.

This ballet epitomizes the unwavering dedication of artists to their craft during wartime and their profound loyalty to their homeland. Funded by the China National Arts Fund, it is the Chongqing Ballet Troupe's sequel to "In Search of Shangri-La" and "Ripples Across Stagnant Water." The journey from conception to the final presentation spanned four years.

In Red Shoes, Chongqing's local culture gracefully intertwines with Western ballet. The performance captivates audiences, maintaining ballet's aesthetic allure while weaving in contemporary expressions rooted in classical foundations. The dancers' artistry speaks volumes, reaching straight to the hearts of those watching.

The ballet paints a tapestry of diverse scenes, from the fog-laden streets of the mountain city to the burgeoning power of shared beliefs and the uplifting charity dance event, each radiating the unique allure of Chongqing.

Stamped with Chongqing's unmistakable essence, the ballet deeply resonates with viewers. Having attended the performance with his students, Professor Liu Jialiang from the Chongqing University of Communications remarked on the meticulous craftsmanship evident throughout - from the dancers' expressive movements to the intricate stage design and costumes.
