Spanning eight days from September 27 to October 4, the Guanyinqiao Pedestrian Street, the main venue, will host numerous thematic activities. Highlights include an international quality life exhibition showcasing premier brands such as Gucci, Clarins, Clinique, and Lancaster.
Luxury electric vehicle brands Denza and top-tier Changan Deep Blue will be featured. Denza, a collaboration between BYD and Daimler established in 2011, witnessed Daimler's rebranding to Mercedes-Benz Group last February.
Moreover, the festival will present over 60 Sichuan-Chongqing consumption scenarios and ten themed tour routes along the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor. Examples of these scenarios are "Chongqing Never Sleeps" and "Taste of Sichuan," which aim to highlight the two regions' cultural richness and diverse consumption patterns.
To showcase new consumption models and trends, coffee brands from Sichuan and Chongqing, such as Chongqing's Ugly Monkey, OUR Bakery, Kerouac Coffee, and Chengdu's Knight Coffee and PiggyBank Coffee, will participate. They will partake in events like "Walking the Streets and Alleys" for a deeper Chongqing experience.
Major platforms, including Alipay, Meituan, and Shin Kong Place, have committed over 50 million yuan (approximately 6.85 million U.S. dollars) for "Enjoy the Gourmet" themed events, highlighted by the Chengdu-Chongqing Hot Pot Festival and the Third Taiwan Food Festival.
Additionally, 16 banks, such as the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and the Agricultural Bank of China, have partnered with companies like PetroChina and Sinopec to distribute over 53 million yuan in discount coupons, encouraging increased consumption.
As per the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing's retail sales of consumer goods reached 995.91 billion yuan, reflecting a 7% year-on-year increase, consistent with national trends. In 2022, the joint economic output of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle rose to 7.7 trillion yuan, emphasizing its role in driving China's economic momentum.
