Poetry Concert Links Twin Cities in SW China

Chongqing - On September 26th, a Chinese poetry and music concert, "Harmonizing Twin Cities," occurred in Chongqing's Fengjie County. The event connected two significant scenic areas - Baidi City in Chongqing Municipality and Baimaguan Scenic Area in Sichuan Province - through an interactive live broadcast, offering the audience a unique and immersive artistic experience.

Renowned artists from Sichuan and Chongqing in Southwest China graced the stage, showcasing a delightful blend of poetry recitations and musical performances.

Dong Fan, director of Sichuan People's Art Theater and recipient of the Golden Lion Award in Chinese drama, took the stage at the Baidi City Scenic Area. With her penetrating vocals harmonizing with the flowing music, she recited Li Bai's poem "Early Departure from Baidi City," transporting the audience back in time to experience the poet's journey through the Three Gorges.

Following this, the Rongyu Chamber Music Ensemble from Sichuan presented a joyful ensemble performance titled "Welcome Overture," extending warm greetings to visitors from all over the world.

Later, the audience was treated to a remarkable collaboration between bamboo flute virtuoso Shi Lei and the Rongyu Chamber Music Ensemble as they performed "Lonely Smoke Straight."

Several artists also presented recitations of "The Immortal by the River - Roaring Yangtze River Flowing Eastward" and a pipa and guzheng duet titled "A Moonlit Night On the Spring River," among other delightful acts.

Despite the physical distance, these artists managed to bridge the gap through online connectivity, uniting the profound friendship of the Sichuan-Chongqing region and the rich heritage of the Three Kingdoms culture.

This is the second cross-location scenic spot dialogue between Sichuan and Chongqing. Earlier this year, on July 5th, the Summit of the Three Gorges & Dagu Glacier Extreme Music Concert resonated at both the Three Gorges Summit and the Dagu Glacier, receiving widespread acclaim from tourists.

The "Harmonizing Twin Cities: Chongqing and Sichuan" series of live broadcast performances will continue from October of this year through December of the following year at various scenic spots.
