This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and its ethos of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual benefit has magnetized a growing influx of international visitors and students to China.

These global citizens have had the unique opportunity to observe the dynamic evolution of Chinese society firsthand. For many, photography has emerged as the prime pick to capture their personal impressions of China.

"Through the unique lenses of international students, we aim to uncover and showcase China's rich history, distinctive societal landscapes, and captivating everyday moments," remarked Feng Daqing, the exhibition curator.

From an impressive pool of 13,000 submissions, over 300 were handpicked for the display. These selected pieces highlight diverse facets of China - from the city's bustling vibrancy to the serene calm of the countryside, each reflecting the photographer's distinctive perspective on the globe.

Zeng Yue, the exhibition's lead planner, shared, "A majority of contributors to this exhibition are not professional photographers. As such, our selection criteria heavily favored depictions that underscored 'culture in details, the tradition in daily life.' Our aspiration is for these photographers to harness an artistic lens, unearthing the beauty embedded within China's daily life and historical tapestry, and through their captures, narrate their authentic experiences and emotions from their time in China."

The organizers aim to establish a showcase and collaborative platform through the "Eye of the World, Beauty of Discovery" photography collection activity. They seek to inspire a broader audience to wield their cameras, capturing both the mundane and the magnificent and artfully articulating their affection for China and their aspirations for the future.
