Hangzhou - The 4th Asian Para Games concluded successfully on the night of Oct 28 in Hangzhou, China. In the past seven days, over 3000 athletes from 44 Asian countries and regions participated in the spectacular sports event, challenging themselves, breaking through the limit, and showing their talents to the world.

Topping the list, China has clinched 521 medals, 214 of which were Gold. Iran is in second place, Japan in third. What’s worth mentioning is that Yemen, Nepal, and Kyrgyzstan have won their first-ever Asian Para Games medal. Many records have also been broken, including 279 Asian Games records, 71 Asian records, and 20 World Records. China has broken 13 World Records, 35 Asian records, and 136 Asian Para Games records.
With the idea of “two Asian Games equally wonderful,” the 4th Asian Para Games has also generated hearty approval from participants. At the press conference on Oct 28, Tarek Souei, CEO of the Asian Paralympic Committee, commented that China had upgraded the standards of hosting the sports event and became an icon for following Asian Para Games and Paralympic Games to reach.

As important witnesses and participants of this Asian Para Games, journalists from Asian countries also highly complimented this grand event. Moataz from the UAE expressed his willingness to revisit China. He said that Chinese people were very hospitable. From the first moment they arrived in Hangzhou, they had received lots of help. Regarding the Games, he commented that they were a very organized sports event, and facilities for participant athletes were accessible and friendly. He also spoke highly of transportation and accommodation provided for journalists.
Luqmanul from Creativeimage Sports Network of Malaysia said that Hangzhou made it easy for all para-athletes and other participants with highly accessible facilities, smart technology, and devices. Tatsuro from Japanese media said that the Hangzhou Asian Para Games was big and admirable, which put pressure on Japan to host the next Asian Para Games. Regarding Japan as the next host, he added, “I’m a little bit worried.”
