Italian Embassy Minister Cristina Carenza Visits Chongqing

Chongqing—Cristina Carenza, Minister of the Italian Embassy in China, recently visited Chongqing. During her stay, she engaged in discussions with Li Mingquan, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, initiating a series of friendly exchanges.

Li Mingquan warmly welcomed Carenza's visit, briefing her on Chongqing's latest economic and social developments. He also reviewed the fruitful outcomes of Chongqing's friendly exchanges with Italy and outlined the 2024 cooperation plan between Chongqing and Italy. Li expressed hope for deeper collaboration with the support of the Italian Embassy in China and the Italian Consulate General in Chongqing.

Carenza said that the city had always been a destination she longed to visit, marking her first visit since assuming her position. She praised Chongqing's remarkable economic and social achievements, captivating urban scenery, and rich historical and cultural heritage. 

Carenza expressed her willingness to deepen cooperation between the two sides in trade and economic exchanges, high-level visits, local government partnerships, cultural heritage preservation, and artistic endeavors.

Carenza visited landmarks such as the Huguang Guild Hall and the Art Museum of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute during her stay in Chongqing. She also inspected the international cooperation efforts in the preservation of Dazu Rock Carvings.
