Chongqing Yongchuan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, with a planned area of 57.32 square kilometers, is a national-level high-tech zone designated as a national-level transformation and upgrading demonstration development zone in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It is one of China's top ten industrial parks, with an excellent business environment and a national demonstration base for new industrialization.
Currently, the Zone has established a diversified industrial development pattern, focusing on intelligent, connected new-energy vehicles and advanced materials as its main sectors. This pattern is characterized by electronic information, new-energy motorcycles, consumer goods, high-end equipment, biomedicine, and the health industry.
Efforts are being made to develop intelligent, connected new-energy vehicles and establish various production bases. These include aiming to build the largest production base for mid- and high-end pickup trucks nationwide, the largest single-unit production base for household paper products nationwide, and the largest new-energy motorcycle industry base in western China.
As of the end of 2023, the Zone had attracted 1,129 companies, including Great Wall Motors, East Hope Group, Xinyi Glass, and Yadea. Among them are 453 technology-oriented enterprises, 191 national high-tech enterprises, and 88 research and development platforms and incubators established at the municipal level and above.
During the same period, the total industrial output value of industrial enterprises above the designated size reached 163.66 billion yuan ($22.59 billion, an increase of 11.96 percent year-on-year. Fixed asset investment in industrial sectors amounted to 27.11 billion yuan, marking a 17.43 percent increase year-on-year. Overall tax revenue reached 5.50 billion yuan, up 13.68 percent year-on-year.
