Chongqing - On October 17, the fourth "Future · Star Cluster" Art and Calligraphy Exhibition opened at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Southwest China's Chongqing. It showcased 87 art pieces from 19 universities across the country and will run until November 10.

During the opening ceremony, awards were presented to outstanding artists, including the annual grand prize, innovation award, and heritage award winners. Established in 2020, the exhibition series aims to energize Western China's cultural and artistic development and encourage more artists and researchers to engage with and serve the region.
Xiang Xinyi, a student from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, expressed her gratitude for receiving the annual grand prize. She views it as a recognition of her creative efforts and motivation to produce even more exceptional work in the future.

Graduate student Suo Erqin from Inner Mongolia Normal University received the heritage award for his print "A Brief Rest: Three," inspired by the Mongolian wrestling tradition, Boke. Suo emphasized the emotional impact of the sport and highlighted the camaraderie between wrestlers during their rest periods.
Wang Chaogang, vice president of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, noted that this year's exhibition focuses on cultivating professional graduate talent in art and calligraphy, fostering artistic innovation, and meeting regional cultural development needs. The exhibition provides a platform for Western art and practical opportunities for graduate training.

Additionally, on the day of the opening ceremony, the "New Starting Point for the West: Forum on the Development of Graduate Education in Fine Arts and Calligraphy at Western Universities" was held. Leaders and experts from the graduate programs of 16 western universities, including Inner Mongolia Normal University, Guangxi Arts University, Chongqing University, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Tibet University, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, and Ningxia University, gathered to discuss ways to stimulate the potential of western culture through innovative educational methods. They explored models and creative pathways for professional graduate training, aiming to inject new momentum into Western culture and promote the continuous prosperity of cultural arts.
