Chongqing - On December 5, the 2025 Changan Automobile Chongqing Marathon press conference and sponsorship signing ceremony took place in Chongqing. Key information, such as the number of pre-registrations and lottery results, were revealed, and over 230,000 participants signed up for the event, setting a new historical record.

The 2025 Changan Automobile Chongqing Marathon will be held on March 2, 2025, at Haitang Yanyu Park on Nanbin Road. Registration for the event opened on November 8, 2024. Two hundred thirty-eight thousand five hundred sixty-nine applications were received, including 221,436 for the full marathon and 17,133 for the mini-marathon.
Pre-registrants came from 406 cities across 26 countries and regions, including China, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, and Japan. Among the applicants, 34,107 were from Chongqing, making up 14.3% of the total, while non-local participants totaled 204,462, accounting for 85.7%. The top five provinces for non-local applicants were Sichuan, Shaanxi, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Hubei.

Both the full marathon and mini-marathon events are decided through a lottery system. The full marathon has 25,000 spots, with 15,680 available through the lottery after accounting for reserved spots, half-marathon direct entries, charity spots, and sponsor allocations. With 215,116 participants entering the lottery, the chances of securing a spot in the full marathon are just 7.29%. The mini-marathon has 10,000 spots, with 8,000 available through the lottery after sponsor allocations. There were 17,133 applicants, giving participants a higher chance of 46.69%.

In addition to the marathon itself, the 2025 event will feature a series of exciting supporting activities, including the Chongqing Marathon Sports Expo, International Consumption Festival, Hotpot Marathon, Breakfast Run, and the 4th Season of the China Marathon Grand Slam Hero Gathering.
These events will be integrated through a model combining races, conferences, exhibitions, and festivals. This will promote deep collaboration between sports, business, tourism, and culture while stimulating sports consumption and contributing to economic growth.
The 2025 Chongqing Marathon Sports Expo will occur from February 27 to March 1, 2025, at the Chongqing International Conference and Exhibition Center (Nanping). The expo will feature eight major exhibition areas, including sports development achievements in Chengdu-Chongqing, sports tourism projects, fashion sports, event services, sports technology products, sports injury prevention and recovery, nutrition products, and digital sports. The expo will leverage the marathon's popularity to attract sports enthusiasts, releasing consumer passion and achieving both brand exposure and marketing success.
The ceremony also saw a series of sponsorship agreements signed with major partners, including Changan Automobile, Xtep (China), Tianyou Dairy, Snowflake Beer, China Mobile, and several others, all of which support the 2025 Chongqing Marathon.
