Chongqing Welcomes the World: ‘Study in Chongqing’ Brand Promotion Launched

Chongqing - On December 6, the Study in Chongqing Brand Promotion Conference and the 2024 Chongqing International Culture Carnival officially opened at Southwest University of Political Science and Law. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from representatives of Chinese and international students and faculty across the city, showcasing Chongqing's vibrant urban image and the remarkable appeal of the Study in Chongqing brand.

The opening ceremony began with a spectacular cultural performance. Students from Southwest University of Political Science and Law, both domestic and international, presented a medley of performances, including the choral piece Jasmine Flower, the traditional Dunhuang dance Flying Apsaras, and the martial arts showcase Chinese Kung Fu. These acts expressed their admiration for Chinese culture through the universal language of art. Additionally, international students performed a song and dance number, Multicultural, Colorful Chongqing, offering the audience a cultural feast infused with global diversity.

"Chongqing, a vibrant city, continues to captivate outstanding youth worldwide with its unique charm and advantages," said Liu Yanbing, the brand ambassador, during the promotion session. He warmly invited global youth and explained the policies behind the Study in Chongqing brand. Liu highlighted ten key measures the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission introduced to enhance the brand, including expanding quality international education resources, upgrading the Study in Chongqing global promotion platform, and launching the "Enjoy Study in Chongqing" WeChat smart service app. These initiatives cover various stages of studying abroad and cater to the diverse needs of international students, helping them better understand, study in, and integrate into Chongqing.

A promotional video provided a deeper introduction to the Study in Chongqing brand, immersing the audience in the rich and diverse campus culture and vibrant lives of international students in Chongqing.

Brand ambassadors share their stories

What makes studying in Chongqing so exciting? As Study in Chongqing ambassadors, Romain from France, Kira from Russia, and Xiao Mei from Laos shared their personal experiences and heartfelt insights. They highlighted the city’s supportive study-abroad policies and vibrant campus life, expressing their enthusiasm for Chongqing’s forward-thinking initiatives.

The ambassadors also introduced the Study in Chongqing promotional platform and the "Enjoy Study in Chongqing" WeChat mini program, highlighting how online tools simplify study-related administrative tasks for international students, making life in Chongqing more convenient. Additionally, they unveiled the Study in Chongqing logo and mascot, "Big C, Little Q," representing the brand's fresh identity.

The event also featured two key exhibitions: the World Cultures Expo and the Chinese Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition by International Students. The World Cultures Expo included booths representing 30 countries from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, showcasing cultural highlights through food exchanges, creative displays, and interactive games. Meanwhile, the art exhibition presented international students' calligraphy and photography, attracting a diverse audience of students and faculty to immerse themselves in the vibrant tapestry of global cultures.
