Chongqing - During the recent Spring Festival, Chongqing residents displayed a strong enthusiasm for outbound travel, with over 75,000 people traveling abroad—an average of around 9,400 per day, reflecting a 12.35% increase compared to the previous year.
The peak days for outbound travel were the second, third, and fourth days of the Chinese New Year, with more than 10,000 people leaving the country daily.
Hong Kong, Macao, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan were the top five destinations for outbound travelers during this period. Hong Kong and Macao, with their proximity to the Chinese mainland, convenient transportation, rich tourism resources, and excellent shopping options, accounted for 66.22% of all outbound travelers.

As for departure points, the most popular exit ports included Zhuhai Gongbei Port, Chongqing Airport, Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, Shenzhen Futian Metro Station, and Zhuhai Highway on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
Meanwhile, as part of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, Chongqing drew the attention of countless tourists from both China and abroad. Additionally, China's 240-hour visa-free transit policy has made it easier for foreign visitors to travel to China, further boosting the number of international tourists visiting Chongqing to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

From January 28 to February 3, Chongqing's border inspection handled over 5,000 foreign visitors, a year-on-year increase of 1.5 times. Nearly 60% of these foreign visitors enjoyed the visa-free entry policy. The top five countries of origin for foreign tourists coming to Chongqing were Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
As Chongqing accelerates the development of a higher-level open economic system and enhances its international exchanges, the number of foreign visitors coming to the city for business, tourism, family visits, and transit is steadily growing.
