Chongqing - On April 2, China's Southwest municipality Chongqing, the city of fiery hotpots and stunning mountain vistas, launched the "Chongqing Gift" - a global debut showcasing 30 carefully selected products that embody the city's rich culture and craftsmanship.
"This special gift carries the enthusiasm and sincerity of the people of Chongqing, linking the past and future of Bayu culture," said Zhang Yongwu, director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, at the global debut event.
Chongqing's true charm lies in its vibrant energy, where the journey matters more than the destination. Even a whiff of spice in the night can stir memories—traces of the city quietly lingering in the heart, Zhang added.
The "Chongqing Gift" collection features three main categories: "Chongqing Taste", "Chongqing Artistic Creation", and "Chongqing Precision Manufacturing". The first 30 selected brands, representing the best of Chongqing's culinary, artistic, and manufacturing traditions, were unveiled at the event.
In the "Chongqing Taste" category, iconic food products include the famous Chongqing Hotpot Base, Xiaomian, Fuling Pickles, Jiangjin Rice Candy, and many others - all representing the city's rich culinary heritage.
For "Chongqing Artistic Creation", the lineup showcases the region's artistic treasures such as Dazu Rock Carvings, Rongchang Xiabu, Bayu Embroidery, and Hechuan Gorge Inkstone. These products serve as a testament to Chongqing's deep cultural heritage and artistic legacy.

Meanwhile, the "Chongqing Precision Manufacturing" category features top-tier craftsmanship, including Carpenter Tan, Rongchang Pottery, Lesening, and Mountain City Watch, highlighting the city's innovative manufacturing capabilities.
These 30 brands represent a blend of tradition and modernity, with cultural and industrial elements integrated to showcase Chongqing's multifaceted charm. The "Chongqing Gift" brand will serve as a unifying identity, enhancing these products' recognition and added value.
Additionally, major e-commerce platforms such as JD.com and Douyin Life have entered into a strategic partnership with "Chongqing Gift" to extend the reach of these products both online and offline. This collaboration is set to further promote Chongqing's unique products across China and beyond.
Recently, the State Council announced a series of measures to accelerate the development of international consumption center cities, naming Chongqing as one of the five key cities. China aims to boost the debut economy, organize large-scale promotional activities, and expand the availability of high-quality goods and services.
"The 'Chongqing Gift' aggregates scattered Bayu brands into an IP matrix. It not only enhances the city's consumption level but also provides a 'Chongqing model' for promoting national characteristic companion gift brands," said Li Ming, professor of the College of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University.
