Immersive Culture & Anime Fest Hits Chongqing for National Day

Chongqing—The 14th Chongqing Cultural Industries Fair, integrated with the inaugural WB Culture & Anime Fest, will open from October 1st to 3rd at the Chongqing Nanping International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Over three days, the event promises an immersive cultural experience, blending tradition with modernity and connecting online with offline activities.

One of the fair's main attractions is the Chongqing leg of the Shadowverse: Evolution Duel City Championship. The stage is set for young card game enthusiasts, with preparations complete for a tournament expected to have 64 participants. The setup includes 1-meter-high horse-fence-style tables and two designated feature match areas.

The fair will also spotlight the core of local agriculture by presenting Chongqing's "Three Treasures": Wushan Crisp Plums, Fuling Zhacai (preserved vegetables), and Fengjie Navel Oranges. These products are celebrated not only as regional specialties but also as cultural symbols with profound historical roots.

Fengjie Navel Oranges have a cultivation history tracing back to the Han Dynasty, while Wushan Crisp Plums, once a Tang Dynasty tribute, now boast a leading brand value nationally. Fuling Zhacai, recognized as a geographical indication product, dominates the global market.

The 6th Chongqing Arts and Crafts Exhibition & International Fine Crafts and Intangible Cultural Heritage Products Show and the 6th "Artisan Cup" Design and Production Competition are major draws for the arts and crafts industry.

This section showcases a diverse range of craftsmanship, from traditional lacquerware and sculptures to contemporary creative products, highlighting the vitality of Chongqing's intangible cultural heritage. The accompanying competition has attracted numerous entries that skillfully blend traditional techniques with innovative design.

The event has drawn exhibitors from key cultural cities like Hangzhou, Ningbo, Xiamen, and Suzhou, adding a dynamic, interregional flavor. Visitors can explore a diverse range of offerings.

Those interested in stationery can discover unique products from Shanxi based on ancient tomb murals. Families can enjoy screenings of original animated series from Ningbo, such as Hululu Phantom Team. Meanwhile, the Hangzhou exhibitor zone will cater to fans of trendy goods with creative products featuring themes like the Summer Palace and Harry Potter, including intricate paper sculptures and accessories.

This convergence of gaming, agriculture, craftsmanship, and contemporary pop culture ensures that the fair offers attendees a rich and engaging experience.
