Dialogue & Development: SISU Exchanges with Delegation from Belt and Road Countries

Chongqing-On November 19th, a productive communication and exchange session was successfully held between Sichuan International Studies University and the delegation from the Seminar on Governance Experience Exchange for Belt and Road Countries. The meeting, characterized by a warm and friendly atmosphere, saw both parties engage in in-depth discussions on various aspects of educational cooperation.

One of their dialogues focused on cooperation in education, such as talent cultivation. Both sides discussed how to better equip students with the international perspectives and professional skills necessary to contribute to Belt and Road initiatives.

Beyond these core topics, their communication and exchange topics also extended to other promising areas related to the country governance. The delegation spoke highly of Chinas efforts in areas such as poverty alleviation, anti-corruption, and related initiatives. The Chinese side shared Chinas philosophies, measures, strategies, and successful Chinese experience in such areas. They elaborated on the targeted poverty-reduction approach that has lifted millions out of poverty and the comprehensive anti-corruption mechanisms that have significantly improved governance efficiency.

Jimmy Parkor Dokonivalu, administrative officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fiji, was a member of the delegation. He shared his thoughts on participating in the Seminar with the iChongqing reporter. He said that this study trip to China allowed him to see firsthand how China is progressing economically, especially in manufacturing. He hoped to bring Chinas development experience back to support his country's poverty eradication efforts.
