Chongqing - A group of nearly 10 young cadres from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs visited CHANGAN Global R&D Center on December 12, 2025, gaining an in-depth look at the innovation driving one of China’s leading automakers and experiencing firsthand the smart features of Chongqing-made new energy vehicles (NEVs).

A row of sleek NEVs in the exhibition hall immediately drew the delegates’ attention. They examined the designs closely, feeling the smooth contours and finish. Several members took turns in the driver’s seat, testing the responsive touchscreen and digital cockpit. “The cars feel truly futuristic - beautiful inside and out, with technology that seems ahead of its time,” one participant remarked.

The group inquired about range, charging time, use cases, and pricing. Upon hearing the figures, some quickly converted prices into Vietnamese dong for reference. Several noted the rapid advances of Chinese automakers in electrification and expressed interest in potential cooperation, citing Vietnam’s own growing EV sector.

CHANGAN - ranked among China’s top four automotive groups - has established three NEV brands: AVATR, CHANGAN DEEPAL, and CHANGAN. It holds two-hundred key EV technologies, and built tech solutions including New BlueCore, Golden Shield Battery, and CHANGAN FORCE E-drive. The company runs a worldwide R&D network spanning 10 sites in 6 countries, with 44 R&D centers and more than 200 labs covering 16 core technological fields. In the past three years, CHANGAN has filed over 14,000 patents, of which 46% are in intelligent technologies.

Chongqing and Vietnam maintain historically close ties and a thriving economic exchange. Vietnam has been Chongqing's major trading partner in ASEAN and a key destination for Chongqing enterprises' overseas investment. The opening of the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Chongqing on October 29, 2025, marked a new stage in bilateral relations. Todays visit by Vietnamese officials is seen as a step toward deeper industrial and technological collaboration between the two sides.
