"The main purpose of this exhibition is to allow the public to witness Hong Kong's diversity and unique appeal, while further strengthening exchanges between Chongqing and Hong Kong. We also hope to deepen local understanding of Hong Kong and showcase the role and functions of the Chengdu Office as a bridge connecting Hong Kong with western China," said Enoch Yuen Ka-lok, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Chengdu (CDETO).

The exhibition presents Hong Kong's distinctive position through immersive, multidimensional displays. "Hong Kong's advantage lies in its ability to combine the strengths of both the Chinese mainland and the global market," Yuen noted. "This enables Hong Kong to serve as a 'super connector' and 'super value-adder' linking the Chinese mainland with the rest of the world."
The exhibition introduces Hong Kong's latest developments in trade and investment, innovation and technology, education, culture, tourism, and talent attraction. It outlines Hong Kong's role under the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as opportunities arising from national development strategies.

This year marks the start of planning for China's 15th Five-Year Plan. According to Yuen, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(HKSAR) will actively align itself with the national development blueprint and leverage Hong Kong's strengths to contribute to the country's long-term growth.
"The Chengdu Office will continue to strengthen ties with Chongqing's government departments and institutions, fulfilling our mission as a bridge to promote mutually beneficial cooperation," he said.
The exhibition also showcases recent exchanges between Hong Kong and Chongqing and promotes major events held in Hong Kong, encouraging Chongqing residents to visit and experience the city firsthand. Notably, two visual artworks commissioned by the Chengdu Office and created by Hong Kong artist Angela Yuen are on display. Using symbolic elements from different historical periods in Hong Kong and western China, the works illustrate the enduring ties between the two regions and Hong Kong's long-standing role as a hub of internal and external connectivity.

Looking ahead, Yuen said the Chengdu Office and its Chongqing Liaison Unit will continue to organize high-quality activities in culture, trade, education, and youth exchange.
"We hope more people will participate in our activities in Chongqing and also visit Hong Kong to experience its vibrancy and charm in person," he added.
