Chongqing – Ten years after China called for protecting the Yangtze River rather than overdeveloping it, Muhe Village in Chongqing has undergone a green transformation. Local citrus now reaches markets across the country, agricultural waste is recycled through an eco-friendly farming system, and villagers have shifted from relying on the river to protecting it. Muhe demonstrates that conservation and development can move forward hand in hand.
