Chongqing -For years, Western media narratives about China have often been filtered through a kind of "frosted glass" of selective reporting — leaving an image that can appear distorted, distant, and sometimes unrecognizable to those who actually live there. Lately, that glass has begun to crack under a cascade of self-generated social media trends, as young foreigners increasingly experience China firsthand — and even compete to see who can become the most Chinese.
