Villages Along the Yangtze River | Yucun: A Village’s Green Transformation

Chongqing - From “selling stones” to “selling scenery,” Yucun Village in Anji County, east China’s Zhejiang Province, has completed a remarkable green transformation over the past two decades. Once a village built around mining, former quarry workers have put down their tools and picked up cameras to capture the changes as abandoned mines turn into cafés and old industrial sites find new life. A deserted cement factory has been transformed into a themed coffee shop inspired by Chinese animation, while former mining pits have become popular visitor destinations. Follow “Jiangcun China” as we see how the “Two Mountains” concept is being put into practice in a village, creating a new path where ecological protection and rural development go hand in hand.
