The Second Odyssey of the World’s Motorcycle Capital: Made in Chongqing Shifts Gears | Let’s Meet

Chongqing - The first all-English international broadcast program in Chongqing, the 252nd special episode of “Let’s Meet,” titled “The Second Odyssey of the World’s Motorcycle Capital: Made in Chongqing Shifts Gears,” and produced by WCICO, will be broadcast globally on October 7.

In the previous episode, we traced how Chongqing's motorcycle industry grew from its early beginnings into a complete industrial system. But as the global competitive landscape shifts, the advantages once built on scale and low prices are now under pressure. Traditional manufacturers like Loncin and Zonsen are charting new courses, launching premium brands and bringing large-displacement technology and precision electronic control to mainstream consumers. Emerging brands such as SURRON and NAXEON are also rising fast, building new brand value with lightweight off-road electric bikes and high-end smart electric motorcycles.

In the past, Chinese motorcycles entered overseas markets largely through price advantages. But as consumer expectations have changed, companies now need to compete on new standards — including technology, product experience, and brand value. The transformation of Chongqing motorcycles is not only about upgrading products, but also about changing the way they compete. From manufacturing products to strengthening technology and brand value, this transformation is still underway. In this episode, we will focus on how Chongqing’s motorcycle industry adjusts its development strategy and transforms its industry to respond to a new era of global competition.
