Chongqing - As China marks the 77th anniversary of its founding and enters the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum is offering visitors a holiday program that pairs brushstrokes with legal statutes. Running October 1 through 7, the Celebrating National Day · Culture Nurturing Hearts series invites the public to explore intangible heritage crafts while learning about the country's newly revised Cultural Relics Protection Law.

On the arts side, visitors can try their hand at three traditional crafts. In the Wanmin Qifu calligraphy corner, guests write the character for "blessing" on scrolls using communal brushes, turning a personal artistic gesture into a collective wish for the nation. Downstairs, a blue-and-white porcelain woodblock printing station lets participants apply indigo pigment to rice paper after viewing Ming-dynasty celadon artifacts in the museum's permanent collection. For those with time to spare, a bamboo-weaving workshop in Room 123 offers a slower-paced introduction to intangible heritage techniques, where families can weave National Day-themed panels under instructor guidance — an activity museum staff say is particularly suited to parent-child groups.
