Chongqing to Develope and Update over 10 International Standards

Chongqing- According to the Chongqing Administration for Market Regulation, A Working Guidance for General Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government on The Implementation of The Outline to Promote Standardized Development at The National Level was recently issued.

The Guidance proposes that by 2025, the overall level of standardization in Chongqing will lead the inland of China.

Furthermore, a market-driven, government-guided, and enterprise-oriented standardized development pattern featuring mass participation, opening-up, and integration will take shape in China by 2035.

A newly standard system to take shape

The Guidance notes that by 2025, Chongqing will reform the standards-making process and make both the government and the market contribute to it.

The city will also shift standard application and cover all economic sectors covered by industry and trade standards. It will also transform the work of standardization from domestic-driven to domestic and international mutually reinforcing, and the development of standardization from quantitative-measurement to quality-benefit-oriented.

At the same time, the Guidance points out the four major goals of extensive and efficient integration and development of standardization in all sectors, significant improvement of standardization quality, great enhancement of standardization openness, and stronger foundation for standardization development.

Through this, the standards development, implementation, and supervision levels of Chongqing will see a significant improvement, while the new standard system featured with government-guided and market-led development of standards promoting high-quality development will take shape.

Over ten international standards to be revised

By 2025, Chongqing will develop more than ten new international standards and more than 500 new national and industry standards.

Chongqing will also publish more than 500 new local standards, disclose more than 10,000 new self-declared enterprise product and service standards, cultivate and develop more than 300 new group standards.

Besides, the city will build more than 50 new standardization pilot demonstration projects, establish more than ten new municipal-level professional standardization technical committees, and strive to create five national standard innovation contribution awards.

To achieve the above targets, the Guidance notes eight main tasks.

This involves promoting the interactive development of standardization and scientific and technological innovation, enhancing the high-quality development of smart manufacturing with standardization, improving the standardization guarantee of green development, accelerating the standardization process of rural revitalization and social progress, strengthening the standardization support of regional coordinated development, boosting up the level of standardization openness, upgrading standardization reform and innovation, as well as consolidating the foundation of standardization development.
