On August 23, Smart China Expo (SCE) — 2018 Mayors' Roundtable for International Sister Cities of Chongqing, China, themed by Smart Innovation for Better Life, was held at Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center, Chongqing, China.
Mayors or official representatives from 23 provinces, cities and states in 16 countries, such as the U.S., Germany, Janpan, South Korea, Singapore and Panama shared their views on the theme. They discussed the role of city to promote smart development and better lives, shared experiences and visions to build smart cities, and promoted innovation cooperation with international cities. Chongqing Mayor Tang Liangzhi attended the roundtable and gave a speech.
Speakers, including Rafael Pino-Pinto, Governor of Panama province in Panama,Yasushi Takahashi, Mayor of Mito city, Manuel Lozano, Mayor of Baldwin Park, California, and Tan Kiat How, Chief ExecutiveOfficer at Infocomm Media Development Authority exchanged their views at the event. Participants shared the idea that, against the backdrop of economic globalization, it's necessary to further exchanges among sister cities and enhance cooperation in the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and innovative talents training, in a bid to raise the level of smart city construction.
At SCE 2018, there was an exhibition area with 3091 m2 for Chongqing's international sister cities. 13 countries and regions had been there. They were Singapore, Laos, South Korea, the U.K., Netherlands, Israel, Hungary, Australia, Uruguay, Christchurch of New Zealand, Panama province in Panama, California of the U.S. and representative enterprises from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions. They exhibited AI system for industrial mold, Tero sports system, automatic driving technology, 3D printing, wearable hi-tech jewelries, and the applications and services in electronic information, health care, city construction, finance, livelihood and the Internet.
