On September 19, the upgraded two-river cruise “Jiaoyun Manjianghong” had a maiden voyage, at Chaotianmen Harbor. More than 200 guests from departments of water transport, tourism, as well as domestic and foreign travel agencies witnessed the voyage.

From the 1980s, Chongqing Passenger Liner CO., LTD created the method of tourism on the cruise in Chongqing. The boat Manjianghong had run for the two-river cruise at the early this century. Until now, the two-river cruise becomes a symbol of aquatic tourism. Chongqing develops in an increasing speed nowadays. Therefore, Chongqing Transportation upgrades the passenger liner through combining transportation and tourism.

At the night of September 19, it was the refurbished boat served guests. The hull is 69m in height and 17m in width with 3 decks. It has traditional decoration in classic style, infusing with characteristics of Bayu culture (巴渝文化). Functions of viewing, conference, and performance have been improved a lot. Otherwise, there is more show about “Chuanjiang Haozi (川江号子)”. It is a show about work songs of boat trackers in Chongqing or Sichuan. A series of cultural and creative products enrich more interactive experiences for tourists.

The round routes for the new boat are 16km, with a deeper tour of the Yangtze River and Jialing River. Tourists can view the Yangtze cableway, kaleidoscopic neon-Tetris, psychedelic skyline of Chongqing, etc. The company indicates that all areas on the boat are free for the public except private rooms. Meanwhile, there are free snacks and drinks serves for tourists.
