Chongqing sends a strong line-up for the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai Municipality. The event hosts are the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.

33 Chongqing trading sub-delegations are present at CIIE in Shanghai

The organization of the Chongqing Trading Delegation is “1+33”, which means 33 sub-delegations are established under the one and only secretariat for the trading delegation.

The trading delegation comprises key departments, including the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Science Technology, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development and the Chongqing Municipal

State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. It also consists of local governments of central Chongqing, western Chongqing, Wanzhou District and Qianjiang District, Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee and Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Group. All the trading sub-delegations are responsible for organizing relevant industries, important enterprises and institutions under local governments’ administration to take part in CIIE. Moreover, sub-delegations encourage participants to invite overseas partners for CIIE. In that way, participant and their partners conduct a series of activities, such as supply-demand matchmaking, business negotiation, purchasing and contract signing, in a bid for more purchasing results.

Pre-expo matchmaking symposiums on supply-demand are efficient

In order to have efficient supply-demand matchmaking during CIIE, the resourceful Chongqing Trading Delegation is well informed of CIIE exhibitors’ information and covey relevant information and requirement to its sub-delegations in a timely manner. The delegation released information on exhibitor lists, product categories and contacts in three stages, covering seven exhibition areas of consumer electronics and appliances, apparel, accessories and consumer goods, automobiles, high-end intelligent equipment,  food and agricultural products, medical equipment and health care products as well as trade in services. After that, the delegation guides its registered enterprises to match themselves with exhibitors.

Four matchmaking symposiums for about 100 buyers promote pre-expo contact by policy interpreting and information releasing.

Promotion Forum on Chongqing as the Pioneer of Opening-up in Hinterland China

At the first CIIE, the Chongqing Trading Delegation is scheduled to hold to two municipal-level promotion activities: Chongqing as the pioneer of opening-up in Hinterland China and key industries matchmaking.

At the same time, the Chongqing Trading Delegation will attend not only the opening ceremony of CIIE, Hongqiao International Trade Forum and other major events, but also policy description session, industry symposium, supply-demand matchmaking symposium, product release and other activities. The delegation proactively promotes trade matchmaking of exhibitors and buyer, letting the ripples of CIIE felt in a widespread way.

Chongqing’s promotion forum will attract more than 200 representatives from multinational corporations. At the promotion seminar, the on-site signing ceremony for purchase and investment attraction will take place. It is related with foods, medicine, iron ore and rubber. And contracts to be signed are associated with many industries, including business and trade, culture and tourism, manufacturing as well as energy.
