A few days ago, Chongqing Wushan Airport, known as “Sky Aircraft Carrier”, passed completion acceptance of its airfield and ATC system, indicating that the facilities at Wushan Airport have been qualified for flight. In addition, the airport is laying a solid foundation for the successful next-step check flight and test flight, as well as the operation in the first half of next year.

The construction project began in October 2015. Chongqing regarded it as the key projects. Moreover, the airline can shorten the space-time distance of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River after completion. As a 4C-level feeder airport, it can handle up to 280,000 passengers and 1,200 tons of cargo by 2020, with 3,333 flights taking off and landing annually. Furthermore, at an altitude of 1,771.48 m, the airport is shaped like an aircraft carrier. Hence, “Sky Aircraft Carrier” is the name of the airport.

According to the principal of the Construction Headquarters of Wushan Airport, the airport passed completion acceptance by 3 steps: the check flight, the test flight, and the final operation. It also marks that the airport’s flight conditions are in place. Therefore, it means the official operation a little closer in the first half of next year.
