“The Three Gorges is too famous that I heard about it a long time ago, and finally I’ve got the chance to experience its magnificence.” Mr. Steven Pang, Consul General of Singapore in Chengdu told iChongqing on the Yangtze Gold 6 Cruise. He is among 200 visitors from China and abroad on a boat tour of “Back to the Three Gorges”, an event hosted by Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development.
The opening ceremony of the event was held on 7th November, on the Yangtze Gold 6 Cruise in SW China’s Chongqing. It invited about 200 tourists and workers who visited or worked in the Three Gorges 20 years ago to visit the place again and experience the changes of the Three Gorges.
Even though it’s the first time to visit the Three Gorges, Mr. Pang is quite familiar with the scenic spots along the itinerary. “I was expecting to see the Little Three Gorges, and the grand Three Gorges Dam is definitely a must-see. Also, I want to see the red leaves, but it seems we have come too early.” He added.
In his opinion, the people in Singapore are actually quite familiar with Chongqing and the Three Gorges. “There is more and more cooperation between Chongqing and Singapore, and the public is getting more information about Chongqing.”
In addition, for the young generation of Singapore, the Three Gorges tour is definitely attractive. “First of all, the Three Gorges itself is famous enough to attract them. The food of Chongqing is also a temptation for the young people. What’s more, the Three Gorges Dam, the Baidicheng (White Emperor City), and other scenic spots are worth a visit.” Said Mr. Pang.
